Biography
Issabel King is a Malawian Singer-Songwriter and Fashion Designer. Her musical journey began in 2016 when a musical group asked her to sing a chorus on their song. She got so consumed by the process that she ended up writing a whole verse and discovering her love for songwriting. Issabel is a versatile musician that draws inspiration from the indie-folk and contemporary Christian music genres.
In 2020, she released her first solo single titled, “Invisible God”. She also released the highly successful single “Bad People” which earned her the Urban Music People (UMP) nomination for “Best New Female Artist 2020”. She was also crowned, “Malawi’s Next Superstar” by Gwamba in 2021. In 2022, she released her first EP titled, “Strings of Love” which is available on Spotify.
Issabel holds a Diploma in Business Management from Lilongwe Technical College and another Diploma in Textiles and Fashion Design from Mikolongwe Vocational College. When she’s not in the studio or performing she’s managing her fashion brand iZA. She also enjoys hiking, writing, hanging out with friends, and taking care of her plants. She hopes to find a global market for her designs and her music.
